Meet the Maker: Unique Handmade Bags by Luba
There is something rather special about owning something that nobody else has.
We are delighted to be the only stockist of Luba’s work, a talented professional seamstress based locally in Shrewsbury who creates beautiful handmade bags using carefully chosen fabrics, colours and details.
These latest two pieces are wonderful examples of her work — and, importantly, each is completely unique. Once sold, that particular bag is gone. Neither design will be reproduced.
Made by hand in Shrewsbury
Luba brings the skills of a professional seamstress to every piece she creates. Look closely and you begin to appreciate just how much thought has gone into them.
From the contrasting linings and carefully finished seams to the colourful zips, decorative pulls and cleverly arranged internal compartments, these aren't mass-produced cosmetic bags with an attractive fabric added to the outside. They have been designed and constructed individually.
Even inside, you'll find Luba's own "Handmade in Shrewsbury, Shropshire" label — a lovely reminder of where your bag came from and the person who made it.
Two bags. Two completely unique designs.
The first is a wonderfully vibrant combination of turquoise, green, deep blue and gold, with a striking geometric pattern and an iridescent heart-detail zip pull. Its elegant curved shape makes it ideal as a makeup or cosmetic bag while still being distinctive enough to leave out on a dressing table.
The second is a larger and more elaborate design in rich pinks, burgundy, purple and shimmering gold. Open it and the craftsmanship really comes into its own. Multiple compartments, pockets and a central zipped section create a surprisingly practical organiser, while the contrasting navy and cerise interior makes the inside every bit as colourful as the exterior.
A beautiful little flower charm finishes the design.
The appeal of a genuine one-off
Perhaps our favourite thing about Luba's work is that she isn't trying to manufacture hundreds of identical products.
She makes something, finishes it, and moves on to the next creation.
That means variations in fabrics, linings, trims and details aren't simply different colour options from a production line — they're part of what makes each piece individual.
When you buy one of these bags, you aren't choosing one from a warehouse full of identical stock. You're buying the one Luba made.
And when it's gone, it's gone.

We'll be introducing more of her work as new pieces become available, but we can't promise that anything you see today will still be here tomorrow — and we certainly can't order another identical one.
